Off on a tangent

Besides photography, which I haven't done much of lately, my other favorite thing in life is food. Go figure, the fat girl likes food. Yeah yeah but that's not what I mean. I guess I'm sort of a foodie. Sometimes a food snob. I don't like to eat in the majority of chain restaurants, or anywhere with a ® next to the name or dishes on the menu.

Anyway, since I haven't photographed anything in a few days and have nothing to share, I thought I'd share this list here of The Omnivore's 100. I admit, I had to look some of these up, so where I've done that, I've linked to a definition of it. The ones in bold are items I've eaten, and the ones crossed out are things I wouldn't ever eat. How would you do with this list?

Downtown Flushing

My homework for my photography class this week was to go to an ethnic neighborhood and take photos as if we were in a foreign country. Who's got it better than me right here in Flushing? As luck would have it, today I went out to lunch with a friend who's a bit of a fanatic when it comes to Flushing Chinese food, so we went and had authentic Chinese, and dim sum. The first dish is called "Liang Pi" or "cold noodles." It's one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. The other item is a pork burger. Really really good. We also had little Peking duck "sandwiches" (no picture) that were out of this world.

Cold Noodles

Chinese Pork Burger

176/365 Chinese Buns

Lychees
